Oesterritter, as much a cook as a ceramicist, makes vessels for use in the kitchen. Each piece is fired in a wood fueled kiln and gets its unique coloring from the way the heat behaves. As someone once said, "You never know what you're gonna get."

Her pieces look like they might be made of iron, like they might have been unearthed at an ancient dig site even. Yet, they are perfectly suited for work in the contemporary kitchen.
